Words, like gossiping former friends, turn on me
Once eagerly sought out, anxiously awaited,
Even openly implored
They stumble now, dazed as from a battle
They don't remember enlisting for

In the middle of an angry crowd
Confused, alternating between
Throwing punches and telling jokes
They desperately search for the path
Where equilibrium is at home
And they are welcomed once again
